For a better understanding of the implications of Assange’s case, the following study examines the historical bilateral diplomatic relations between Ecuador - United States, as well as the different worldviews of the figure of a diplomatic asylum in America and Europe. Likewise, here are studied the origin; the information, the implications and the international community reactions concerning the military and diplomatic documents of the United States, published in the WikiLeaks site and the Newspapers around the world. Moreover, deeply analyzes the diplomatic asylum to Julian Assange by the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, the reasons why the Ecuadorian government granted such protection, and the U.S. entailment on Assange’s case, as one of the involved actors, also affected by the filtration… La presente investigación analiza las posibles repercusiones en las relaciones diplomáticas bilaterales entre Ecuador y Estados Unidos, a causa del asilo diplomático de Julian Assange, fundador de la organización Wikileaks. Para una mejor comprensión de lo que implica el caso Assange, el siguiente estudio examina las históricas relaciones diplomáticas bilaterales Ecuador- Estados Unidos, así como las distintas cosmovisiones de la figura de asilo diplomático en América y Europa. Así mismo, se estudia el origen, la información, las implicaciones y reacciones de la comunidad internacional acerca de los documentos militares y diplomáticos de Estados Unidos publicados en la página Wikileaks y en la prensa escrita de todo el mundo.
