| Sumario: | This paper analyzes the feasibility of a merger between the CAN and MERCOSUR to create only one integration system. At present, the region has two systems integration, the Andean Community and MERCOSUR: In addition to the newly created UNASUR. Chapter 1 analyzes the concepts and phases in the literature that defines an economic integration. The second, third and fourth chapters study in detail the CAN, MERCOSUR and UNASUR mentioning its history, the Treaties, goals, challenges, and economic, social, environmental and political areas. Finally, the viability of a possible merge CAN with MERCOSUR, specifically in the political, economic, commercial and legal aspects. Chapter 5 analyzes the presence of UNASUR as a path to merger the CAN and MERCOSUR. Interviews with academics and professionals in economic integration will be an important method to support objective of this paper. As a result of the investigation the main conclusion that has been reached is that in the current geopolitical, economic and political circumstances is not possible a merger between CAN and MERCOSUR. However, if there are the auspicious conditions the hypothesis of this paper could be real, focusing in the dynamic of the Foreign Policy of the members of CAN and MERCOSUR countries. |
