Sumario:This document attempts to explain the importance of the right to freedom of expression in a democratic society and the importance of their full enjoyment, in order to suggest that, during the last presidency that lives Ecuador, has been using indirect mechanisms as means restrictive and violate the fundamental right of freedom of expression This paper makes a comprehensive analysis of the most frequent indirect mechanisms, which have been imposed on the free exercise of the right to freedom of expression, with modeling of specific cases that have occurred during the years 2007 to 2012. Finally we analyze the importance of the doctrine of truth and real malice, in addition to make a weighting analysis between the right of honor, good name or reputation and the right to freedom of expression.
