In order to achieve this the South American country has had to embrace the Chinese style of cooperation. The decline of neoliberalism and the rise of the socialism of the twenty-first century in Ecuador have been key factors in the need to find new political and economic allies and transform the economic model. Emerging China meets these requirements, and consequently Ecuador has not hesitated in attempting to reinforce bilateral relations with the country. The winwin cooperation promoted by China is important for Ecuador because the country has received loans and has financed strategic projects for changing its productive matrix without having to resort to Western financial institutions. Nevertheless, the scheme will require Ecuador to maintain its extractivist model as well as being subjected to Chinese conditions. 2017-05-15T14:54:13Z 2017-05-15T14:54:13Z 2016-09 masterThesis Calles Monar, Andrea Carolina.
