| Sumario: | The Construction industry being one of the most competitive activities requires a depth analysis of what is being done in each step, regarding issues of quality control and productivity, using efficiently the resources, whether material or human in order to reduce by preventing losses due the invest time in it. The following research is meant to be a contribution to verify if there is a relationship between waste materials and waste of workforce, applying tools about the philosophy of Lean Construction and the experiences of other authors. In order to achieve this objective, the project of the construction of seven rural houses of same characteristics were selected to make comparisons. Observations were made during a period of two months of building, in which data were collected worker’s productivity and material waste. A range of activities were analyzed on building, including concrete discharge, masonry and fixing the ceramic. The analysis of the information evidencing of productivity problems and material losses, also it has demonstrated that there is no relation between the two variables for reasons that are shown in this case study |
