Its purpose is to preserver not only it historical heritage, but also and provide a spase which will serve to value and reinforce historical significance under identity sense of the people from Alausí. To develop this research, a theoretical framework was established in which different conceptualizations from several authors and institutions were taken into account; especially from those who devoted to study and protect museums, including their great importance for keeping the identity alive. In summary, a documentary and field research was carried out in order to document and analyze cultural history and Alauseño´s identity which must be related to and embedded inside a museum. For doing so, it was necessary to use a methodology based on historical method and ethnographic method, it was also employed a field study technique based on some interviews which were addressed to some authorities and historians of the Alauseño people in order to identity the historical museum creation viability. In conclusion, the proposal to create a historical museum, is acceptable since it will allow recognizing a historical process development of the Alausí´s men in order to encourage a rescuing and new culture from their ancestral identity, with a mission and vision that this space will have about its historical value and emblematic expression around the different proposed museographic rooms. El propósito de la presente investigación, titulada Propuesta de creación de un museo histórico que incentive la identidad cultural de los habitantes del cantón Alausí provincia de Chimborazo. Tiene como finalidad ser una alternativa para preservación del patrimonio histórico y a su vez conocer si la propuesta servirá como espacio para valorar y reforzar el sentido de identidad de transcendencia histórica del pueblo Alauseño. Para desarrollar dicha investigación se estableció un marco teórico en la cual se destacan diferentes conceptualizaciones de autores e instituciones dedicadas al estudio y protección de los museos, y a su vez la gran importancia de mantener viva la identidad, en síntesis se realizó una investigación documental y de campo con la finalidad de identificar y analizar la historia cultural e identidad Alauseña, relacionándola e impregnándola en el interior de un museo, se utilizó una metodología basada en el método histórico y el método etnográfico, también se hizo uso de la técnica de estudio de campo basada en la aplicación de entrevistas dirigidas a autoridades e historiadores propios del pueblo Alauseño, sobre la viabilidad de la creación de un museo histórico relacionada con la identidad actual de los habitantes del cantón Alausí. En definitiva, con la propuesta de creación de museo histórico, como una forma de espacios de reconocimiento del proceso de desarrollo de los hombres que incentive una cultura nueva rescatando la identidad ancestral del cantón Alausí, con la misión y visión de valor cultural que tendrá este espacio expresado en las diferentes salas museográficas propuestas.
