Sumario:This research analyzes the leadership who gerencian health institutions and proposes some strategies that apply in Hospital IESS City Miracle, to improve the performance of its mission. Health institutions , offer based on scientific knowledge, principles and values, responsibility and leadership services; the latter being the most relevant to the development and fulfillment of personal goals , the group and the entire organization factor . For this reason, during the course of this study, a review of the concept and leadership types is performed, as well as managerial skills that should possess an area manager exercising leadership in this important home health. During the development of the theoretical framework important things to master the leader, such as planning, organization and communication as main pillars for achieving personal and institutional goals is highlighted. After analyzing the results of the field work, the little of those in leadership positions of department heads checked, being necessary to train with responsibilities of group leadership in their attitudes. We completed the application as proposed theoretical position of leadership the implementation of transformational leadership which was proposed in 1978 by James MacGregor Burns and Bernard M. Bass, who described a number of qualities that made a type of business leadership is beginning to value in the world of business. It was the concept of transformational leadership.
